Starting with iOS 15 / iPadOS 15, the text in all photos is completely interactive, and you can use "Photo Text Recognition Display" with functions such as copy and paste, search, and translation.
Photo text recognition Display language and regionText recognition display supports live preview of photo app, screenshot, quick look, Safari, camera app, but English, Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese are supported, Japan Words are not included.
This feature is not currently enabled by default. You can use it by turning on the "Text recognition display" button in Settings> General> Language and Region.
You can also use it by changing the priority order of the language to be used in iOS Settings> General> Language and Region to "English" at the top and restarting.
Visual lookupToggle between languages and regions, swipe up on a photo or tap the info button to highlight recognized objects and scenes, world-famous art and landmarks, flowers in nature, A "visual lookup" function will be available that allows you to know in detail the types of books and pets.
When you tap the text recognition button displayed at the bottom right of the camera, it changes to a highlight display indicating that the character is recognized on the preview screen displayed by the camera.
However, unsupported Japanese text recognition is incomplete.
