How to "quick shoot" a video on your smartphone
If the decisive moment that you can shoot a video that will go viral is happening in front of you, there is no time to linger. We will start shooting right away. We all know how to shoot videos with a smartphone. Open the "Camera" app, switch to "Video" mode, and press the red record button to start recording. Some of you may know how to record in high quality. But when the decisive moment arrives, you can't afford to fiddle with buttons and menus. That's why both iPhones and Android phones have the option to instantly capture video from "Photo" mode without having to switch to "Video" mode first. This feature of the iPhone is officially called "QuickTake" and is available on iPhone XS and later models. As for Android smartphones, I don't know which model supports this video recording function, but it is available on my Pixel 4 with the latest Android 12 beta installed.
How to quickly take a video from "Photo" mode on iPhone and Android smartphones
It's easy. Once you open the "Camera" app, just press and hold the shutter button or hold either volume button. When you do this, the shutter button will change to a red record button and you'll start taking videos instead of photos. This feature has several options. Swipe up with your finger on the screen to zoom in on the subject. Conversely, swipe down to zoom out. Apps such as Snapchat can also be scaled in the same way using this operation. If you don't want to hold the record button all the time, swipe over the lock icon on the screen. For Android phones, this icon will appear to the left of the record button. For iPhone, it is displayed on the right. Note, however, that none of these features work if you're using the volume buttons on your iPhone. It's easy to stop recording. Just take your finger off the shutter button or volume button.
