What are the benefits of using "Shazam" as a Chrome extension?
It's a strange time. Of course, the world is in trouble, but your device can tell you the name of the song that's playing around you. The benefits of using "Shazam" as a Chrome extension This is the world of the future! There have been apps and services that tell you song names for a long time now, and now they're coming to Chrome. The next time a good song is played on Netflix or HBO, you will know the name of the song immediately. Naturally, such features remind us of the king of music recognition software: Shazam. Thanks to Shazam, asking a store clerk for a song name is a thing of the past, and has since been owned by Apple. However, although Apple has owned Shazam since 2018, it is still available on various platforms. And most recently, it conveniently became a Chrome extension as well. You can easily identify any song, such as the music playing in the video you are viewing in Chrome.
While there are many ways to use Shazam to recognize song titles, there are two advantages to using the Chrome extension. One is that Shazam can easily recognize songs that are playing from the same device. You don't have to take out your phone to recognize the song playing from your laptop. Next, and this is more important to me personally, the extension can recognize songs even when you're using headphones. I often use headphones to watch videos and TV shows on my computer, so when I want to know the name of a song, Shazam on my phone often doesn't work.
The Chrome extension Shazam is available for free in the Chrome Web Store. Check it out directly at this link. Just click "Add to Chrome" and select "Add extension" in the pop-up screen. Once you've added the extension, you can access Shazam from the extension button on Chrome's toolbar. You can also pin Shazam to your toolbar from the menu for easy access. Click the Shazam extension icon while Chrome is playing some music. Click the big Shazam button on the pop-up screen to start speech recognition. If a song is matched, the screen will display the song name. Some users report that the extension is buggy and doesn't work well, but it works fine in my browser. It fails sometimes, the only downside is that there's a brief stutter when you first click the Shazam button and when it's done scanning for music. You can link the Shazam extension with your Apple Music account (sorry, it doesn't work with Spotify), but you can't link it with your own Shazam account. I don't know why. You can view your Shazam history from the extension's "SHAZAM NUMBERS" drop-down menu. You can click on a previously recognized song in this menu to open Apple Music to listen to the song or delete it from your history. You can also delete all history by scrolling to the bottom and clicking "Delete All" and then "Delete All" again.
