Thailand's Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Industry, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), and AMEICC (Japan-ASEAN Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee) are in Bangkok on the 2nd. A MoU (memorandum of understanding) signing ceremony was held at the residence of the Japanese ambassador for open innovation between Japan and Thailand. It is a part of the activity called "Open Innovation Columbus (OIC)" which promotes strategic alliances between innovative startups in Japan and Thailand and Japanese companies in Thailand. The Japanese government will act as a liaison between the two parties, and will enhance support contents such as hands-on from matching to follow-up, funds necessary for business expansion in Thailand, and a mentoring system with local Japanese entrepreneurs in Thailand.
