Is this really $ 249?
We would like to review the latest model of Xiaomi "Redmi Note 11S", which was provided in advance by the international PR agency Zbanx. Click here for the video version.
The display is a 6.43-inch FHD + organic EL. Punch hole in the center of the upper part of the screen.
The lower bezel is thicker. The bottom has a microphone hole, a USB Type-C terminal, and a speaker.
There is a 3.5mm earphone jack on the top. There are multiple holes next to it. Is that a rich stereo speaker?
When I actually listened to the music, the sound quality was pretty good considering that it was $ 249. Better than cheap models everywhere. I'm worried about the feeling that the treble sticks a little. Watching videos is also pretty good. At the highest volume, the treble may be broken a little depending on the thing.
If you listen carefully and carefully, it is certainly stereo, but the sound from one side is bad with sukasuka. The upper speaker is just the receiving speaker. There is no problem in listening to people's voices on the phone, but the singing voice is not good enough. The delicate tune of the piano that sounds in the back tends to be lost. Some people may be a little worried when using stereo. However, there are also monaural models in the low-priced range before stereo.
There is a tendency for high-end speakers to prefer bottom speakers to top speakers, but this unit feels the difference more. People who are accustomed to watching movies on high-end machines will be worried, but if you normally watch YouTube videos or watch videos on a vertical screen with TikTok etc., you will be worried about the left-right balance and difference of sound. I think that it is unlikely that it will become.
I use only high-end machines, but recently I also buy low-priced machines. The OPPO A55s is a little inferior in sound as the model I'm using now, and the upper speaker is even quieter and unbalanced than the Redmi Note 11S. And arrows We has a poor sound quality and a muffled sound, and it is completely out of the question with a monaural speaker. As a model in the 20,000 yen range, I feel that the Redmi Note 11S is still doing well.
Performance is about 300,000 points of AnTuTu. A light game moves, and even a decent title can come into view if you give up the image quality setting and comfort. Sufficient horsepower to move 90Hz / FHD +. Twitter scrolling is ok. Personally, I'm used to terminals with 120Hz or higher, and it's unpleasant to see a 60Hz terminal, whether it's a low-priced model or a high-end model. I think that this is a part that can only be understood by users who are accustomed to the high drive of mobile OS terminals with a lot of animation and scrolling. It is an impression that even the author of such a high-end supreme principle can compromise.
What surprised me a little was the scroll inertia. The behavior when scrolling, such as the setting menu part of MIUI13, is like iOS or AQUOS.
In MIUI 13, flicking the left side of the status bar down will change it to the notification area, and flicking the right side of the status bar down will change it to various toggle switches. I know this is more rational, but I felt it would take some time to get used to it.
Like the high-end Note 11 Pro series, the camera is a 1 / 1.52-inch sensor equipped with a 108-megapixel Samsung Isocell HM2.
108MP, 8MP wide angle, 2MP macro, 2MP depth
A 100 million pixel camera for a low-priced machine! ?? That is probably the biggest topic of this machine. It is convenient to cut out using the 100 million pixel mode.
It is commendable that the price has been reduced by eliminating the telephoto lens in exchange for the 100 million pixel installation, instead of "loading everything" but "should I cut it out?" This kind of addition and subtraction can be appreciated. I think it would be better to have macros and depths not installed and to make them cheaper and lighter, but unless consumers are less aware that "the more eyes you have, the better", cheap waste lenses. May continue to be installed.
Taken with the macro of Redmi Note 11S. A smartphone macro that has poor image quality and tends to cast shadows on the main unit. Recently, some high-end models are focusing on macros, but low-priced models are still dead weight.I understand that modern smartphones can't be talked about with a single eye except for special cases such as the AQUOS R6, but it's probably not a good idea to increase the number.
By the way, I compared shooting with a 108-megapixel camera in normal mode and 108MP mode.
After all, the details are completely different when compared. It's fine. However, moire has come out.
Left normal, right 108MP mode
I think it's amazing that I was able to shoot without worrying about camera shake.
To be honest, you don't need 100 million pixels to take a picture with your smartphone and see it on your smartphone. But you don't have to deny all the possibilities. From the point of view of the content creator, it is helpful to have the option of shooting in high resolution for the time being and cropping the necessary parts. Also, from the viewpoint of image processing, it is better if the amount of information can be obtained at a higher resolution even if it is a little dirty, rather than without information.
However, we cannot avoid the problem of how well it matches the actual product and how it is usually used. The sensor size cannot be increased to fit the size of a smartphone, and the amount of light that can be captured per pixel decreases. This time, although the clouds are appearing in the upper part, the sun is located and it is not in front of the light, so the conditions are a little bad. In the 108MP mode of this 108-megapixel camera, the dark part is terrible just because high resolution was prioritized. The leaves are crushed.
Left normal, right 108MP mode
Regardless of the color and background of the condominium, if the leaves are crushed so far, it will be difficult to finely raise them later by image quality processing. HDR should work even at 108MP, but in order to take a good picture without camera shake even though 100 million pixels are packed in this small sensor size, the shutter speed is very severely shortened before compositing. It may be that this has happened because we have no choice but to raise the ISO sensitivity. If there is a sensor size suitable for 100 million pixels, a camera system, and high-end image quality processing that seems to be high-end, I think that better results may be obtained. This is the limit of "100 million pixels in the low-priced range".
In addition, the file size will be around 20MB per sheet. It is also important to note that the more you take, the more the storage will be compressed. It's nice to have a dream of 100 million pixels on a low-priced machine, but it may be difficult to use it regularly.
However, the first Mi Note 10 with 100 million pixels for about 60,000 yen has a moody camera operation and it takes 4 seconds to save 100 million pixels. To be honest, it wasn't very useful. On the other hand, Redmi Note 11S takes 1-2 seconds. If this is the case, even if it is not suitable for moving object photography, there is still room for use in appropriate situations. I'm doing my best for a model in the 20,000 yen range.
There is no doubt that "100 million pixels is an excess for many at this time." However, compared to a well-balanced camera that aims at the pixel pitch of high-end smartphones, the fineness is obvious, and there are parts that seem to be close to the dedicated full-size sensor machine with just the fineness.
Crop Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Redmi Note 11S are auto HDR, SIGMA fp L is SIGMA F3.5 lens 24mm, 1/320, ISO100, F4.5
Taken on a different day from the photo above and cropped Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Redmi Note 11S with auto HDR, SIGMA fp L with SIGMA F3.5 lens 24mm, 1/500, ISO100, F5.6
It is a mistake to affirm 100 million pixels, saying, "The higher the number of pixels, the better."
The higher the pixel count and the smaller the pixel pitch, the less light can be captured, so there are certainly situations where you may feel the suspicion of dark areas and the narrow dynamic range. On the other hand, the higher the pixel count, the more likely it is that camera shake will occur in theory. In the high pixel operation mode, you will still feel the high-sensitivity noise in the dark as mentioned above in situations where dynamic range is required, but it is a trade-off with image stabilization, so it is unavoidable.
In non-bright scenes such as night scenes and indoors, 9 pixels are treated as 1 pixel by pixel mixing (pixel binning) to make up for the lack of light. The night view is an impression that you can take a good picture. If it is a night view with a lot of light, you can take a good picture without camera shake, so you can feel the skill of binning and Xiaomi's camera processing.
In the higher-end models, there were scenes where the amount of light that could be taken was low, and the quality deteriorated in low light, but this is excellent for a model in this price range. There were some scenes where arrows We was not stable even in a night view with a moderate amount of light.
Image stabilization works as it should when shooting movies. Recording performance is a low-priced model. Zooming in and out does not move suddenly, and a feeling of slow and smooth operation. Please see the video for details.
You can also take delicious rice.
Although it supports 33W quick charge and has a battery capacity of 5000mAh, I think that it is often contained in this thinness and lightness. This wouldn't have been the case with Xiaomi a while back.
Impression that it was well organized even though it was in the 20,000 yen range. Its weaknesses are that it is not waterproof (drip-proof and dust-proof IP53 compatible) and 5G non-compliant, but I think it is a good model if it is not necessary.
Not compatible with docomo and au platinum bands. Since the technical suitability of this machine cannot be confirmed, it is for people who are planning to travel abroad or foreigners visiting Japan. We believe that the Redmi Note 11 series is likely to be launched in Japan as well, and we hope it will be of some help.
