Big Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (head office: chairman of Tokyo: Yoshiki Kitajima Capital: under 114.4 billion yen: DNP) has developed high-power thin, lightweight, low-cost seat coils for wireless charging for electric vehicles (EV), plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) and other electric vehicles and unmanned moving vehicles (AGV) 11.1kW. In recent years, in order to reduce the environmental load, in the worldwide popularity of electric vehicles, the wireless charging technology, which eliminates the complexity of charging operations and improves the convenience of people in life, has attracted much attention as to promote the further popularization of electric vehicles. In addition, with the popularity of "automatic parking", especially sensors and cameras do not need to manipulate the steering wheel, this will be a more indispensable technology. On the other hand, the existing coils that use Leeds wire as conductors have problems in thickness, weight and cost. To address these challenges, DNP has developed wireless charging chip coils that are thinner, lighter and lower cost than existing products by leveraging coil design and manufacturing technologies with years of knowledge in the electronics industry to support high power transmission (SAE*1J2954-WPT3/11.1kW level). In addition to EV and PHEV, the product can also be used in the growing market for AGV. [characteristics of sheet coils developed by DNP] support wireless charging systems on both the transmission side and the receiving side. The coil, including ferrite of the electric vehicle, is about 3 mm thick and weighs about 1 kg (J2954WPT3/Z2-supported coil specified by SAE International). Compared with the existing products using Leeds line with a thickness of about 12 mm and a weight of more than 4 kg, the thickness and weight are both about 1/4, achieving substantial thinning and lightweight (DNP survey). Compared with the existing products, the materials used can be reduced, thus the cost can be reduced. DNP's unique coil design technology reduces the leakage magnetic field generated from the outside of the coil, reduces the heat generated and achieves average, thus achieving high power transmission. The use of the best design technology suitable for coil size and power can also be applied to automatically guided vehicles (AGV) with small installation space. The product can also be used as a coil integrated in IH household appliances to convert the magnetic field generated in the coil into heat. DNP will promote the early production of the developed seat coil for high-power wireless charging, with annual sales of 5 billion yen by 2025. In addition to domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers, system manufacturers, roads and other infrastructure-related industries, it also provides services for driverless car (AGV) manufacturers and IH home appliance manufacturers. At the same time, it is committed to the application and development of sheet coil technology, and further promote product development. in the future, as the ultimate technology, it will also be launched for the driving charging which is being studied and developed by various countries. * 1 SAE (Society Of Automotive Engineers) International: a US non-profit organization with about 127000 experts in the field of mobility as members to develop automotive and aerospace-related standards and specifications.
