BeMap opens "Millimeter Wave Lab @ Kashiwanoha" where you can experience fixed wireless access of Accton Technology

BeMap Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Fuminori Sugino) is an outdoor robot development verification base operated by Drone Works Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, Representative Director: Hironobu Imamura). In Japan, we opened the first Terragraph (* 1) field experiment facility "Milliwave Lab @ Kashiwanoha". This facility opened on December 22, last year, and from the same day you can experience a demonstration of Terragraph-equipped fixed wireless access (* 2) equipment from Accton Technology (Headquarters: Shintake City, Taiwan, hereinafter Accton). Terragraph is a gigabit wireless technology developed by Meta Connectivity to extend the connectivity close to optical fiber into the air. Millimeter Wave Lab @ Kashiwanoha is equipped with a Terragraph-compliant 60GHz (* 3) fixed wireless access device made by Accton that can be used in Japan without a license. This facility consists of 4 repeaters MLTG-360 and 4 slave units MLTG-CN, and you can experience a high-speed and wide-area gigabit mesh network (* 4). We also provide this facility as a place to co-create solutions that utilize millimeter waves, such as tests that bring in communication equipment such as local 5G. In addition, the DIY factory "KOIL FACTORY PRO", which is about 300m away from the experimental facility, is connected to the millimeter-wave parabolic antenna Metro Linq at a communication speed of 1Gbps. We are planning to increase the speed to multi-gigabit with the new Terragraph compatible model "MLTG-CN LR" released in the first quarter of this year. Accton's MLTG-360 and MLTG-CN used in this experimental facility are popular price range devices developed for fixed wireless access, and have realized 1/3 of the conventional optical fiber installation cost (our estimate). increase. In addition, even in places where it is difficult to lay optical fibers such as public roads with heavy traffic, it is possible to develop communication infrastructure in a short period of time and at low cost by using this device. BeMap's Millimeter Wave Lab @ Kashiwanoha offers a tour of Accton's Terragraph equipment. If you would like to participate, please apply from the URL below. https://forms.gle/uikUhF8M2kQD6cgS8

Enco Liew, Vice President of Accton Wireless PBU, said: "Accton has developed millimeter-wave technology for many years and has worked closely with Meta on many exciting projects, one of which is Terragraph. Over the past few years, Accton has been a carrier around the world, WISP. We have accumulated experience in providing companies with CAPEX save and OPEX efficient Terragraph solutions to help partners and customers build and renovate the latest network infrastructure. We are pleased to be able to work together to build Japan's first Terragraph field experimental facility, Millimeter Wave Lab @ Kashiwa-no-ha. Working with our Japanese partners to discover and develop compelling innovations on Terragraph. I am looking forward to it. ”Hironobu Imamura, President of Droneworks Co., Ltd., said: "The cutting-edge millimeter-wave communication" Terragraph "developed by Meta (formerly Facebook) is the first to become a" Kashiwanoha Smart City "that embodies the" future image of the world "based on the collaboration of" public, private, and academia. " We are pleased to be able to contribute to "creation of a new industry," which is one of the themes of Kashiwanoha Smart City, such as the development and remote control of autonomous mobile robots, micromobility, drones, etc. at KOIL MOBILITY FIELD. Based on Terragraph, using a high-speed, large-capacity network that replaces optical fibers, we will be able to develop and develop in cooperation with KOIL FACTORY PRO members so that we can develop and experiment with the communication infrastructure required for Kashiwanoha Smart City. We are looking forward to it. "* Facebook and Terragraph are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc. * MetroLinq is a trademark of Accton Technology Corporation.
