ACSL Starts Orders for Secure Small Aerial Drone "SOTEN" --Drone Journal

On December 7, 2021, ACSL began accepting orders for the secure compact aerial drone "SOTEN" and optional items. The aircraft is resistant to data leakage and extraction, and is resistant to hijacking, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications. Open price.

ACSL has commercialized it based on the research and development results of the "Safe and Secure Drone Fundamental Technology Development" project carried out by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) from FY2020.

SOTEN is equipped with security measures based on ISO15408, the international standard for computer security, to prevent data leakage and extraction, and to withstand the hijacking of the aircraft. The main parts of the aircraft are domestic products or highly reliable products procured from overseas to enhance security such as encryption of communication / shooting data and protection of acquired data in the domestic cloud.

A wide range of cameras can be selected with the one-touch switching method of the camera. In addition to standard cameras, it can be replaced with infrared cameras + visible cameras, multispectral cameras, and optical zoom cameras (under development).

With a maximum airspeed of 15m / s, it is strong against wind and can be used in harsh environments such as disasters. In addition, it is equipped with SLAS / SBAS (quasi-zenith satellite system Michibiki's submeter-class positioning augmentation service) that can grasp more accurate position information in Japan, and grasps accurate position information such as disaster investigations. Allows for safer takeoff and landing where necessary.

It supports drone operation via the Internet via LTE communication, and can perform unassisted non-visual flight (level 3) by automatic flight in remote areas such as mountainous areas and plants. Even in an environment where the Internet cannot be used, it is possible to display an offline map on the base station application on the control side and let the drone fly automatically. In addition, we are developing a mount for mounting the camera on the upper part of the aircraft, and it is also possible to take inspection images of infrastructure equipment from below.

Industrial drones are attracting attention as one of the robotics technologies for solving various social problems due to the declining birthrate and aging population, and will be used in future life such as infrastructure inspection, site confirmation and exploration in the event of a disaster, logistics, and agriculture. It is expected to be closely related. In September 2020, the government announced a policy to "procure only security-guaranteed drones" and "promptly replace existing drones" (* 1), resulting in high security. Demand for drones that have achieved this is increasing.
